The ISA Distributor Index was flat in March, while the Manufacturer Index rose, according to the Economic Indicator Report from the Industrial Supply Association. The ISA Distributor Index stayed steady at 63, while the Manufacturer Index increased to 65.5 from 60 in February.
For each index, a reading above 50 percent indicates expansion, while a reading below 50 percent indicates contraction.
This growth is contrary to indicators from ISM. The March PMI fell to 57.2 from 57.7 the prior month, indicating that expansion for ISA members continues at a faster pace than for other respondents to the ISM survey.
