When fundamental changes occur, companies and their leaders must transform to succeed, says Graeme Codrington, co-author of Leading in a Changing World, in MDM Interview: Beyond Change Management.
According to Codrington, we are currently experiencing an era shift, which means "all the forces of change – societal, political, economic, religious, personal – all these forces change simultaneously."
With this type of major change comes new rules for what success and failure look like. And, "if the rules have changed, you have to change the way you play the game," says Codrington.
Change management systems won't help. The best response to such disruptive change is transformation – making fundamental adjustments to your company and how you lead in order to "bring people with you" to a prosperous future, says Codrington.
