Beacon Roofing Supply Inc. is living up to the words of President and CEO Paul Isabella, who said on the company's most recent earnings call that it would "remain aggressive on the M&A front."
The company last month acquired roofing distributor BJ Supply, Bristol, PA, its ninth of 2016, highlighting an otherwise quiet month for distribution M&A.
Isabella called fiscal 2016 a "landmark year" that started when the company closed on its acquisition of Roofing Supply Group, Dallas, TX, for $1.1 billion.
This most recent acquisition helps Herndon, VA-based Beacon – No. 4 on MDM's 2016 Market Leaders list for building materials & construction distributors – expand in the Northeast Philadelphia market, which BJ Supply serves.
In other building materials & construction M&A activity, SRS Distribution, McKinney, TX, a roofing distribution holding company, acquired Metro Roofing Supplies, Stamford, CT. Metro Roofing Supplies has five locations in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
