While no new large deals were announced in distribution M&A during November, there was a continuing steady stream of national distributors adding to their portfolio with multi-location independents. The only mega-deal activity was United Rentals’ closing its previously announced $2.1-billion acquisition of BlueLine from Platinum Equity to expand its equipment rental capacity in many of the largest metro areas in North America, including both U.S. coasts, the Gulf South and Ontario.
