While no blockbuster deals were announced, the distribution M&A landscape in August maintained a steady pace of activity, with continued consolidation of single-market and smaller regional companies by national consolidators across the usual sectors. It’s an indicator that distribution M&A markets continue to be extremely favorable for strategic buyers.
For both distributor and manufacturer acquisitions during August, the continued theme for 2018 has been the addition of specialty services and capability, as more national distributors continue to add both geographic reach and more differentiated service capabilities.
