Paris-based electrical distributor Rexel had sales of €13.5 billion (US$15.2billion) in 2015, up 5.6 percent year-over-year. Profit for the year decreased 92.1 percent to €15.7 million (US$17.7 million).
In the fourth quarter, Rexel’s sales were €3.5 billion (US$4 billion), up 3.2 percent year-over-year. The company reported a loss of €5.7 million (US$6.4 million) in the quarter, compared to a profit of €42.5 million (US$47.8 million) the prior year.
In Europe (54 percent of group sales), fourth-quarter sales were up 1.1 percent and in North America (36 percent of group sales) sales increased 4.4 percent, with U.S. sales down 5.9 percent and Canadian sales down 8.8 percent. Asia-Pacific (10 percent of group sales) sales increased 10.8 percent.
