United Rentals Inc. (NYSE: URI), Stamford, CT, reported sales for 2015 of $5.8 billion, a 2.3 percent increase from 2014. Rental sales increased 2.7 percent. Profit increased 8.3 percent to $585 million.
For the fourth quarter, sales were $1.5 billion, down 2.6 percent over the same period a year ago. Profit was $169 million, down 12.9 percent.
