WD-40 Company (Nasdaq: WDFC), San Diego, CA, reported sales for the first quarter ended Nov. 30, 2015, of $92.5 million, a decrease of 4 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Profit increased 11.8 percent to $12.1 million.
First-quarter multi-purpose maintenance products sales, which include the WD-40 and 3-IN-ONE brands, were $82.2 million, down 3 percent from the prior year.
Homecare and cleaning products sales, which include all other brands, were $10.3 million for the first quarter, down 10 percent compared to a year ago.
Americas segment sales in the first quarter were $44.1 million, down 1 percent compared to the first quarter of the prior fiscal year. The Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (EMEA) segment sales were $32.1 million, down 7 percent year-over-year. Asia-Pacific segment sales were $16 million for the quarter, down 6 percent.
