Fastenal Co. (Nasdaq: FAST), Winona, MN, reported sales for August of $411.5 million, a 12.8 percent increase year-over-year. Daily sales increased 12.8 percent to an average of $17.9 million.
During the month, sales to manufacturing customers improved 14.6 percent, while sales to nonresidential construction customers increased 6.4 percent.
Store count was 2,454, down from 2,610 a year ago. Employee headcount increased 1.1 percent year-over-year to 20,111.
