The Bossard Group, Switzerland, reported sales for the second quarter of CHF 197.2 million (US$204.5 million), up 13.9 percent, or 14 percent in local currency.
In Europe, second-quarter sales rose 4.8 percent to CHF 109.1 million (US$113.1 million), up 5.8 percent in local currency. In America, sales increased 34.7 percent CHF 57.4 million (US$59.5 million), up 32.2 percent in local currency. In Asia, sales increased 15.8 percent to CHF 30.7 million (US$31.8 million), also up 15.8 percent in local currency.
The company reported sales for the first six months of CHF 395.1 million (US$409.6 million), an increase of 15 percent year-over-year, or 15.3 percent in local currency. Profit grew 44.7 percent to CHF 45.3 million (US$47 million).
In Europe, half-year sales rose 7.5 percent to CHF 223.3 million (US$231.5 million), up 8.6 percent in local currency. In America, sales increased 32.3 percent CHF 114.3 million (US$118.5 million), up 30.7 percent in local currency. In Asia, sales increased 16.2 percent to CHF 57.5 million (US$59.6 million), also up 16.2 percent in local currency.
