Beacon Roofing Supply Inc. (NASDAQ: BECN), Herndon, VA, reported results for its fourth quarter and fiscal year ended September 30, 2018.

Fourth-quarter sales were $1.9 billion, a 50 percent increase over the same period a year ago. Net income for the quarter was $48.3 million. Sales for fiscal 2018 were $6.42 billion, up nearly 47 percent compared to last year, the company said. Net income for the year was $98.6 million, the company reported.

Beacon Roofing’s 2017 acquisition of Allied Building Products drove the strong results. Company President and CEO Paul Isabella said management was encouraged by the fourth-quarter and full-year results in the face of  “significant weather impacted, top-line challenges” to the business.
