Acuity Brands Inc. (NYSE: AYI), Atlanta, GA, reported fiscal fourth-quarter sales of $1.06 billion, up 11 percent compared to the year-ago period. Net income increased 20 percent to $108 million.
The company’s quarterly sales increase was due mainly to a 13 percent increase in volume, as well as a 1 percent increase from acquisitions, partially offset by a 3 percent net unfavorable change in product prices and mix of products sold, the company said.
Sales for the full fiscal year increased 5 percent to $3.68 billion. Net income for the year was $350 million.
