RG Group Acquires Powertech Motion Control - Modern Distribution Management

RG Group Acquires Powertech Motion Control

The RG Group, York, PA, has acquired hydraulics distributor Powertech Motion Control Inc. Powertech, which operates in New England and the Mid Atlantic U.S., will operate as a division of the RG Group.

Powertech will continue to operate out of its headquarters in Mahwah, NJ, and to operate its three Parker stores in New Jersey and New York.

Most of the represented manufacturers have indicated their interest in expanding their relationships from Powertech to RG and RG to Powertech.

By joining the RG Group, Powertech will gain access to increased capabilities, especially in marketing and value added engineering systems manufacturing, power unit manufacturing, cylinder repair and manufacturing that the RG Group provides from its Flour Mill facility in York Pa.

The RG Group has been increasing their focus on Parker retail stores. Upon completion of this transaction, the RG Group will operate six authorized Parker retail stores in the Mid Atlantic and Northeast.

The RG Group reported the acquisition fits with its strategic plan to become a dominant motion control provider of solutions in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. The company says it aims to be a consolidator.

The RG Group (formerly Die-A-Matic, Mid Atlantic Instrumentation and Y/P Products) is a group of distribution and manufacturing companies with a focus on customers and markets that require motion & control, instrumentation products, engineered systems, and value added services. The Group consists of Dev-Air, Van-Air and Hydraulics, RG Marine Systems and Hose Valve and Fitting Stores representing Parker Hannifin and other suppliers of hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation and electromechanical products and solutions in the mid-Atlantic part of the United States since 1956.
