Stock Building Supply, Raleigh, NC, a supplier of building materials to professionals in the United States, has acquired Home Lumber Company, in San Bernardino, CA, with $92.2 million in annual sales.
‘Home Lumber is located in one of the most robust economies in the United States,’ says Fenton Hord, Stock president and CEO. ‘The company has been a consistently strong performer for many years.’
Founded in 1947, Home Lumber’s product mix includes lumber, OSB and plywood, engineered wood products and miscellaneous building materials.
Home Lumber is headquartered in San Bernardino and operates additional locations in Bishop, CA, and Yerington, NV. The acquisition adds 143 associates to the Stock family. All senior management, including company owner and founder’s son, Milt Johnson, will remain with the company.
Raleigh, NC-based Stock Building Supply now operates 287 locations in 33 states, with reported sales of $4.1 billion in the fiscal year 2005, ending July 31. Stock Building Supply is a subsidiary of Wolseley plc of Theale, England, which had sales in fiscal year 2005 of more than $20 billion.
