Genuine Parts Company, Atlanta, GA, reported sales increased 8% to $9.8 billion in 2005, and profit was up 11% to $437.3 million.
Sales in the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 2005, were up 7% to $2.41 billion, compared with $2.25 billion in the same period last year. Revenues in Automotive Group were up 5%; Motion Industries increased sales by 9%, and EIS, the electrical/electronics group, saw sales rise 6%. S.P. Richards, GPC’s office products group, improved sales by 10%.
Genuine Parts Company is a distributor of automotive replacement parts in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. GPC also distributes industrial replacement parts in the U.S. and Canada through its Motion Industries subsidiary. S.P. Richards Company, the Office Products Group, distributes business products nationwide in the U.S. and Canada. The Electrical/Electronic Group, EIS, Inc., distributes electrical and electronic components throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
