Lubricant manufacturer Advanced Lubrication Specialties (ALS) agreed to acquire the assets of Savannah, GA-based Chemlube International lubricants division.
Terms were not disclosed, but the transaction is expected to close before the end of January.
Founded in 2001, Chemlube’s Savannah lubricants division manufactures a full range of lubricants distributed across the Southeast. The blending facility features 5.8 million gallons of storage, eight railcar spots, tanks ranging from 3,000 to 1,200,000 gallons and deep-water dock access for shipping and receiving waterborne base oils.
The Chemlube Group — which includes Chemlube International and Switzerland-based Chemlube SA — is a distributor and trader of base oils sourced from global refiners. Additionally, Chemlube exclusively distributes ADNOC’s premium Group III base oils in Europe.
“Chemlube has been a strategic partner to ALS for close to 20 years,” ALS CEO Greg Julian said in a Jan. 13 news release. “They are a first-class organization with quality products, customers and a great reputation in the industry. These are the principles which define ALS, so when we had an opportunity to bring their customers and blending capacity into our portfolio, we jumped at the chance.”
