Fuel equipment distributor The Kennedy Company appointed Thomas Cacciola as its Chief Executive Officer, effective Jan. 6.
Cacciola is the first CEO hired from outside the founding family.

With over 30 years of experience in the convenience store and fuel industry, Cacciola has held leadership roles in operations, marketing, maintenance, construction, real estate, environmental compliance and sustainability. He began his career at Cumberland Farms as VP of Real Estate. More Recently, Cacciola served as the Chief Real Estate Officer at EG America, where his leadership contributed to growth, innovation and operational success across the company’s real estate portfolio.
Rhode Island-based Kennedy said that under Cacciola’s leadership, the company will maintain its growth strategy of supplying petroleum equipment and services to fueling facilities across various industries.
“It is the right time to make a change and bring in new leadership,” Kennedy Chairperson Kristen Kennedy said in a Jan. 7 news release. “We are confident his industry acumen and strategic vision for growth will benefit our customers, vendors and industry partners. He is the ideal leader to guide the company at a time when significant changes in the fueling industry will present opportunities for innovation and growth.”
