MRO replacement parts distributor Motion agreed to acquire U.S.-based International Conveyor and Rubber (ICR).
Terms were not disclosed, but the transaction is expected to close at the end of December.
Blairsville, PA-based ICR employs approximately 150 people and offers conveyor belt sales, installation, repair, and maintenance services to commercial and industrial customers across the eastern U.S. With seven locations across Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, West Virginia and Alabama, the company also provides engineering and design solutions. ICR serves industries including mining, power generation, oil and gas, construction, steel, manufacturing, packaging, recycling and marine terminals.
“ICR is highly complementary to Motion, adding seven strategic locations that expand our reach,” Motion President James Howe said in a Dec. 3 news release. “ICR introduces new customers and end markets, allowing us to broaden our offerings. We are thrilled to welcome the highly talented ICR employees to the Motion team, including Kory and the other owner-operators who will continue to play an integral role in the business.”
ICR will join Motion’s Mi Conveyance Solutions business unit.
This will be Motion’s fifth acquisition of 2024. It’s previously most recent addition was Canada-based Stoney Creek Hydraulics, announced Oct. 29.
Motion was ranked No. 2 on MDM’s Top Distributors List for Industrial Supplies, No. 2 for MRO, No. 1 for Power Transmission/Bearings, No. 3 for Fluid Power and No. 2 for Hose/Hose Accessories.
