Building materials distributor Builders FirstSource acquired Huntington, NY-based Kleet Lumber.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Kleet Lumber is a single-location distributor of lumber and building materials, including doors, windows, roofing, hardware, moldings and custom millwork. Established in 1946 by Maxwell Kleet, the company continues to operate as a family-owned business under Kleet’s son and grandsons.
“This acquisition bolsters our market presence in the Northeast and enhances our ability to serve builders, contractors and homeowners in the region,” Builders FirstSource said in a Nov. 25 news release.
Builders FirstSource’s most recent previous acquisitions were of Reno, NV-based High Mountain Door & Trim Inc., completed on Oct. 7 and Rhode Island-based Douglas Lumber, completed on Oct. 4.
Builders FirstSource was No. 2 on MDM’s Top Distributor’s List for Building Materials/Construction.
