Grand Rapids, MI-based flat-rolled steel distributor Mill Steel Co. acquired Maryland Metals Processing (MMP).
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Baltimore, MD-based MMP is a stainless and aluminum toll processor. Founded in 1990, the company operates from a 165,000-square-foot facility in Maryland and provides customers with cut-to-length, polishing, slitting and coil enhancement services.
“The facility is strategically located to further enhance our shipping and processing capabilities across the country and beyond,” Mill Steel CEO Pam Heglund said in a Nov. 4 news release. “Most importantly, we are committed to preserving the outstanding service, relationships, and quality that Maryland Metals’ customers have come to trust.”
Mill Steel said it will adopt a “hands-off approach” to ensure MMP remains independent, preserving its name, business model and all employees.
