Just last month, Atlanta-based White Cap made two acquisitions to expand its rebar and structural steel product capabilities, and boost its presence in the U.S. Northwest.

Now in its third deal of the year, the construction and safety supplies distributor will add Michigan-based safety product and equipment distributor National Ladder & Scaffold Co.

“For nearly 90 years, National Ladder has served as a trusted supplier of safety products across the Midwest, and we know their experienced associates, product offerings and established locations will strengthen our ability to provide broader access to quality products and excellent service for local customers,” White Cap CEO Alan Sollenberger said.

National Ladder & Scaffold Co., which provides safety products, equipment and workwear to contractors in residential, commercial, industrial and public infrastructure end markets, is now part of the White Cap suite of brands, branches and services.

Company President Corrado Corradi said the acquisition enhances National Ladder & Scaffold’s ability to provide new development opportunities for its associates.

Founded in 1935 in Detroit, MI, the company’s original focus was on manufacturing straight and extension wood ladders to customers in a wide variety of end markets across the Midwest. In 1984, the company established the Contractors Clothing segment to distribute workwear clothing specific to the construction trade. By 2024, these two entities had merged to become National Ladder & Scaffold Co. Now in its fourth generation of family management, the company is a distributor of direct-to-jobsite safety products, equipment, clothing and personal protection equipment.

On MDM’s 2023 Top Distributors Lists, White Cap was No. 10 for industrial supplies distributors and No. 8 for construction/building materials distributors.
