In its fifth acquisition of the year, infrastructure supplies distributor Core & Main plans to expand into the underground utility industry with the addition of Carrollton, TX-based EGW Utilities.
EGW is a distributor of products and services to underground utility contractors and municipalities.
“EGW is a solid strategic and cultural fit for us, with a team that has deep understanding and experience in the underground utility market,” Core & Main President Brad Cowles said in a March 25 news release. “By bringing our two teams together we’ll establish increased capacity and create exciting growth opportunities for their team members, while providing added value for our customers. We look forward to welcoming the EGW team into the Core & Main family.”
St. Louis-based Core & Main ranked No. 1 on MDM’s 2023 Top Distributors List for Industrial PVF and No. 9 for Industrial Distributors. Earlier this month, the distributor acquired ACF West.
