Houston-based oilfield products distributor NOW Inc. — which had done business primarily via its DistributionNOW brand since the company spun off from National Oilwell Varco in 2014 — has a new corporate name as of Jan. 19: DNOW.

The new corporate legal name matches the New York Stock Exchange ticker symbol that the company has used since that spin-off, and a Jan. 18 news release confirmed the ticker symbol will remain unchanged.

“The decision to harmonize our name and brand is underpinned by our commitment to elevate and distinguish DNOW as a solutions-based products and services provider,” said David Cherchinsky, DNOW President and CEO. “We are widely recognized as DNOW and the change of the company’s corporate legal name is a natural step in unifying our identity in the marketplace.”

DNOW was No. 19 on MDM’s 2023 Top Industrial Distributors List, No. 4 for industrial PVF, No. 5 for fluid power and No. 18 for MRO .
