Less than a month after announcing it would be acquired, thermoplastic resin distributor M. Holland said Sept. 19 that it is divesting its 3D Printing group to a Japanese firm.

Northbrook, Illinois-based M. Holland, which also supplies ancillary resin materials, said chemical trading firm NAGASE Group-owned Interfacial Consultants LLC — a material science-based products and services company — is buying the 3D Printing unit that specializes in integrated additive manufacturing technologies for injection molding applications and more. The business’ engineers and specialists provide prototype services, parts and mold production, contract manufacturing, training and ongoing consultation.

Terms were not disclosed for the deal, which has a closing date of Sept. 29. ACquired by NAGASE in 2020, Interfacial will service M. Holland’s 3D printing customers and provide additive manufacturing solutions to industrial markets with turnkey services from concept to commercialization.

With this acquisition, M. Holland can connect our customers with Interfacial for all 3D printing needs,” said Peter Prusak, director of Business Development at M. Holland. “Our broad customer base will benefit from access to additive manufacturing solutions, with the added technology and resources from our partner Interfacial.”

M. Holland announced Aug. 23 that it would be acquired by polymer recycling and distribution firm Ravago Group.
