The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has raised its maximum penalty levels for workplace violations, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
The maximum penalty for “willful or repeated violations” has increased from $145,027 per violation to $156,259 per violation. Maximum penalties for serious and “other-than-serious” violations has increased from $14,502 per violation to $15,625 per violation, OSHA said.
The new penalty maximums went into effect Jan. 15.
