Atlas Copco Acquires North Carolina Compressor Distributor

Atlas Copco’s newest asset, Compressed Air Systems Inc., has 30 employees and is based in Salisbury, N.C.
Swedish industrial manufacturer Atlas Copco says acquisition of Eugen Theis GmbH will expand presence in Germany.

Swedish industrial manufacturer Atlas Copco on Monday announced it has acquired Compressed Air Systems Inc., a Salisbury, North Carolina-based distributor of compressors. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Compressed Air Systems (CAS) has 30 employees and covers markets in its home state and neighboring states.

“CAS has a strong service business and a very knowledgeable team,” said Vagner Rego, business area president, Compressor Technique. “North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia are areas with good growth potential and the acquisition will enable us to reach our goal to get closer to customers.”

The company will become part of the service division within the Compressor Technique business area.
