Landscape distributor Heritage Landscape Supply Group Inc., a McKinney, Texas-based subsidiary of SRS Distribution, announced that it has acquired two companies — Southern Stone Supply of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Scott Stone of Mebane, North Carolina. Financial terms of the deals weren’t disclosed.
Southern Stone Supply was founded in 2016 by partners Eric Mullen and Tucker Thorpe, both of whom will continue to lead the company under the same name.
“We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to grow our footprint in North Carolina with our first location in the Triangle region,” said Matt McDermott, president of Heritage. “We are fortunate to have Eric, Tucker, and their team of customer-focused employees join the Heritage family. Southern Stone Supply will make an ideal addition to our growing footprint across the Southeast.”
Scott Stone was founded in 1985 by the Scott family and employs a team of more than 30 employees. The company currently operates across three locations in Mebane, Raleigh and Greensboro with more than 16 acres of inventory. The Scotts will continue to run the business.
“I am pleased to announce the acquisition of another great family-owned and operated business,” McDermott said. “We are honored that Steven and Linda Scott chose to join Heritage over many other options and we look forward to building on the company’s legacy in the coming years. The combined strength of Scott Stone, Southern Stone Supply, and future growth opportunities across the Carolinas will help us create one of the leading landscape supply platforms in the region.”
