Kaman Corp. (NYSE: KAMN), Bloomfield, CT, reported second-quarter sales of $446.3 million, down 1.5 percent year-over-year. Profit increased 30.9 percent to $21.7 million.

Distribution sales declined 2 percent for the second quarter to $304.1 million, while organic sales per sales day decreased 1 percent. Operating income decreased 4.8 percent to $15.4 million.

Aerospace sales fell 8.2 percent to $142.3 million, while operating income increased 9.3 percent to $29.2 million.

For the first six months, sales were $889.1 million, up 3.3 percent year-over-year. Profit increased 22.9 percent to $28 million.
