Johnson Controls Inc. (NYSE: JCI), a Milwaukee, WI-based global multi-industrial company, reported sales for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30 of $9.6 billion, down 2 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Profit increased 1.1 percent to $178 million.
Building Efficiency sales in the quarter were $2.7 billion, 5 percent higher than the same quarter last year. Automotive Experience sales fell 6 percent to $5.4 billion, while Power Solutions sales decreased 2 percent to $1.5 billion.
The company reported sales for the first nine months of $28.4 billion, down 1.3 percent from the prior-year period. Profit increased 34 percent to $1.2 billion.
