AmerisourceBergen Corp. (NYSE: ABC), Valley Forge, PA, today reported sales for the third quarter ended June 30 of $34.2 billion, up 12.8 percent from the same period a year ago. Profit was $214.2 million, compared to a year-ago loss of $12.8 million.
The third-quarter sales increase reflects a 9 percent increase in AmerisourceBergen Drug Corp. revenue and a 22 percent increase in AmerisourceBergen Specialty Group revenue.
For the first nine months of the fiscal year, sales were $100.5 billion, up 14.2 percent over the same period a year ago. The company recorded a net loss for the period of $499.2 million, compared to year-ago profit of $208.7 million.
