Motion Industries Acquires Braas Company

Acquisition brings new opportunities in the area of industrial plant floor automation.

Motion Industries, Birmingham, AL, has acquired Braas Company, Eden Prairie, MN, a distributor of products and services for industrial automation and control. Terms were not disclosed.

Braas has more than 150 employees, as well as five offices and three warehouses in the Midwest and Southeastern U.S.

"We are very pleased about the addition of this well-established company, which will open up new opportunities for Motion Industries in the area of industrial plant floor automation," said Kevin Storer, Motion Industries' senior vice president of U.S. operations.

Motion Industries is a subsidiary of Genuine Parts Co. (NYSE: GPC), Atlanta, GA.
