European building materials supplier Saint-Gobain reported sales for the second quarter of €10.4 billion (US$11.5 billion), a decrease of 1.3 percent year-over-year. On a like-for-like basis, sales increased 3.8 percent.
Building distribution segment sales decreased 1.8 percent to €4.9 billion (US$5.4 billion). Innovative materials sales were down 0.8 percent to €2.5 billion (US$2.8 billion). Construction products sales were down 1.1 percent to €3.2 billion (US$3.5 billion).
For the first six months, the company reported sales of €19.5 billion (US$21.6 billion), a decrease of 1.6 percent year-over-year. On a like-for-like basis, sales increased 2.9 percent. Profit more increased 13 percent to €624 million (US$691.5 million).
