Air Products (NYSE: APD), Lehigh Valley, PA, reported sales for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30 of $2.4 billion, a 1.4 percent decrease year-over-year. Profit increased 8.8 percent to $346.8 million.

Third quarter industrial gases sales in the Americas were $832 million, a decrease of 7 percent year-over-year. In Europe, the Middle East and Africa sales decreased 6 percent to $427 million, while in Asia sales increased 7 percent to $448 million.

Materials technologies sales for the quarter were $520 million, a decrease of 4 percent compared to the prior year quarter.

For the first nine months of the fiscal year, sales were $7.1 billion, down 5.2 percent over the prior-year period. Profit decreased 74.6 percent to $237.1 million.
