PPE products maker Protective Industrial Products continues to gain international market share.
The Latham, New York-based company announced June 21 that it has acquired Ultimate Cleaners Industrial, Ltd, a Wolverhampton, U.K.-based manufacturer of hand protection and other PPE products that does business as Ultimate Industrial.
It follows PIP’s acquisition of footwear maker ISM Heinrich Krämer in Germany, announced May 16, and gives PIP 30 locations worldwide. PIP is a portfolio company of Odyssey Investment Partners.
PIP notes that Ultimate Industrial — founded in 1986 as a family business — has become a UK-based market leader in innovative PPE and hand protection products marketed under brands such as UCi, Hantex and Traega.
“We are excited to announce the acquisition of Ultimate Industrial and welcome them into the PIP family,” explained Curt Holtz, President and CEO of PIP. “This addition allows PIP to expand our presence in the important UK market and continue to build upon our growing international capabilities. We believe both companies share similar cultures and have passionate teams committed to continuing to add value for our customers.”
“We are delighted to join forces with PIP and embark on this exciting new chapter,” shared Andy, Matthew and Alex Jones, who will continue to lead Ultimate Industrial going forward. “This acquisition presents a tremendous opportunity to leverage the strengths of both Ultimate Industrial and PIP. By combining our resources and knowledge, we are confident that we will deliver more opportunities for our customers to grow.”
