Electrification and automation manufacturer ABB agreed to acquire Aurora Motors.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Hayward, CA-based Aurora Motors is a provider of vertical pump motors, generating $4 million in revenue. The company has engineering and operations in Shanghai, China, along with a corporate office and distribution center in Hayward, CA.
“This bolt-on acquisition is a strategic move that not only expands our global footprint but also fills key market white spots,” ABB NEMA Division President Jesse Henson said in a Nov. 5 news release. “This acquisition aligns with our vision to enhance innovation and deliver unparalleled value to our customers worldwide. By integrating Aurora Motor’s expertise, we are poised to accelerate growth and redefine industry standards, ensuring long-term success for our stakeholders.”
ABB said the transaction is part of its Motion Business area’s strategy for profitable growth. It will enable the NEMA Motors Division to broaden its product portfolio, strengthen its supply chain and enhance support for its global customers.
The acquisition is expected to close before the end of the 2024 fiscal year.
