Hexcel Corp. (NYSE: HXL), Stamford, CT, reported sales for 2016 of $2 billion, up 7.7 percent from 2015. Profit increased 5.3 percent to $249.8 million.
For the fourth quarter, sales were $483.5 million, 4 percent higher than the prior-year quarter. Profit grew 10.4 percent to $59.5 million.
Industrial sales were $54.5 million for the fourth quarter, down 1.6 percent year-over-year.
Commercial aerospace sales of $349.9 million increased 7.2 percent for the quarter, and space and defense sales of $79.1 million decreased 4.8 percent compared to the same period a year ago.
