PTDA Adds 4 Categories to PIE Technology Platform - Modern Distribution Management

PTDA Adds 4 Categories to PIE Technology Platform

PTDA and BSE expanded PIE, a product information platform for industrial manufacturers and distributors, to 32 offerings.

The Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) and Bearing Specialists Association (BSA) added four product categories to its PIE Technology Platform (PIE).

The four product categories — conveyors/material handling, couplings, motors and linear bearings (round shaft) — expand the total offering in the bearing and power transmission/motion control categories to 32.

PIE serves as a platform for manufacturers and distributors of industrial products, facilitating access to catalogs for sharing product information. Authorized distributor partners will have access to the platform while ensuring manufacturers maintain data ownership. PTDA and BSE said that both manufacturers and distributors will benefit from this initiative.

PTDA said that gearing, enclosed gearing and adjustable/variable speed drives are additional categories in development.

PTDA announced the addition of two manufacturers and one associate member Oct. 18. The association will host its annual Industry Summit Oct. 24-26 in Colorado Springs, where MDM will be in attendance.
