Electrical distributor Border States promoted Aaron Hughes to Mergers and Acquisitions Director, effective Oct. 1.
Hughes — the former owner of Advance Electrical Supply — began his career in the electrical industry with Power & Generation Testing, where he conducted acceptance and maintenance testing at substations and for large industrial clients in the Southeastern region.
Following the acquisition of Advance Electrical, Hughes has taken on the role of Area Director for Border States’ operations in the Illinois and Indiana region.

In his new position, Hughes will serve as a partner in advancing the company’s growth strategy by identifying, assessing and executing mergers and acquisitions.
Border States was No. 6 on MDM’s 2024 Top Distributors List for Electrical, Data & Security.
