WESCO International Inc. (NYSE: WCC), Pittsburgh, PA, reported sales for the second quarter of $1.9 billion, down 0.3 percent year-over-year. Profit decreased 3.9 percent to $49.8 million.
Year-to-date sales were $3.7 billion, down 1.2 percent over the prior-year period. Profit decreased 13 percent to $85.9 million.
"Our second quarter results were in line with our expectations," said CEO John Engel. "Sales were flat to prior year and margins were stable. While the industrial end market continues to pressure our top-line, all three of our other end markets posted positive organic sales growth in the quarter, including construction."
