Stanley Black & Decker (NYSE: SWK), New Britain, CT, reported sales for 2016 of $11.4 billion, a year-over-year increase of 2 percent. Organic sales grew 4 percent. Profit increased 9.2 percent to $965.3 million.
For the fourth quarter, sales were $2.9 billion, up 3 percent over the same period a year ago, with 4 percent organic growth. Profit decreased 3.8 percent to $255.5 million.
Tools & Storage sales for the quarter increased 6 percent year-over-year to $1.9 billion. Industrial segment sales decreased 5 percent to $454 million. And security sales decreased 1 percent to $533 million.
