Anixter International Inc. (NYSE: AXE), Glenview, IL, reported sales for 2016 of $7.6 billion, up 23.1 percent year-over-year. Profit increased 25 percent to $121.1 million.
For the fourth quarter, sales were $1.9 billion, up 3 percent over the year-ago quarter. Profit was $36.8 million, up from $5.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2015.
For the fourth quarter, network & security solutions sales of $1 billion increased 6 percent over the prior year; electrical & electronic solutions sales of $507 million increased 0.9 percent compared to the prior-year period; and utility power solutions sales of $347.5 million decreased 1.2 percent.
