Paris-based Air Liquide reported sales for the second quarter of €5.1 billion (US$6 billion), up 19.5 percent on a reported basis and 2 percent on a comparable basis compared to the prior year.
Gas & services sales for the second quarter were €4.9 billion (US$5.8 billion), up 21.2 percent year-over-year on a reported basis and up 2.7 percent on a comparable basis. Engineering & construction sales decreased 28.8 percent on a reported basis and 29.1 percent on a comparable basis to €93 million (US$109.3 million).
For the first six months, sales were €10.3 billion (US$12.1 billion), up 28.4 percent on a reported basis and up 1.8 percent on a comparable basis compared to the same period in 2016.
"The Group's performance in the first half of 2017 was solid, with further growth in revenue and net profit, as well as an improvement in the operating margin," said Benoît Potier, chairman and CEO of Air Liquide. "Sales benefited from the end of the Airgas consolidation effect and positive currency and energy impacts."
