Houston Wire & Cable Co. (NASDAQ: HWCC), Houston, TX, reported sales of $85 million for the first quarter of 2018, an 8 percent increase over the same period a year ago. Profit was $2 million, compared with a loss of $0.5 million a year ago.
Sales for the company’s project business—which targets end markets for utility power generation, environmental compliance, engineering and construction, industrials, and mechanical wire rope—increased 34 percent while MRO sales grew 2 percent.
This marks the company’s third straight quarter of year-over-year revenue growth.
