Olin Corporation — a manufacturer and distributor of chemical products and ammunition — announced a temporary halt in operations at its Freeport, TX facility as the result of Hurricane Beryle. The company declared a system-wide Force Majeure for its Chlor Alkali Products & Vinyls division products and Aromatics shipments due to hurricane-related damage, according to a July 10 news report.

The disruption affects Olin’s production and logistics capabilities, including access to power, raw materials and other essential feedstocks and services. Comprehensive inspections and assessments are underway at the Freeport facilities, and a coordinated plan is being developed to ensure safe and orderly return to service. The duration of the disruption remains uncertain.
