Building materials distributor Kodiak Building Partners announced the promotions of Cliff Shimer to Executive Vice President of Business Transformation and Mark Garboski to Executive Vice President of the Southeast Region.
In his new role, Shimer will manage information technology, human resources, continuous improvement, marketing and national accounts, ensuring these business functions align with Kodiak’s goals. Previously, Shimer worked at American Builders Supply (ABS), a Kodiak company, where he streamlined processes and enhanced supplier and customer relationships.
Meanwhile, Garboski will manage the operations of ABS, Carpenter Contractors of America Southeast, Keys Lumber and Sunrise Builders Supply in his new role. With extensive experience in the building materials industry, Kodiak said Garboski has successfully streamlined various operations and identified new growth opportunities through his leadership as the company’s Chief Operating Officer.
“These promotions mark an exciting chapter in Kodiak’s evolution,” Kodiak CEO Steve Swinney said in a Dec. 17 news release. “Cliff’s relentless focus on innovation and operational excellence has transformed how we approach continuous improvement, making us stronger as an organization. Mark’s ability to cultivate local success while steering regional growth has been a cornerstone of Kodiak’s strategy. Their combined leadership will shape the next phase of our growth, keeping us competitive, adaptable and deeply connected to the communities we serve.”
Kodiak was No.13 on MDM’s Top Distributors List for Building Materials/Construction.
