London-based industrial products and solutions distributor Rubix acquired Italy-based Somi.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Somi is a distributor of fluid power and flow components, including hoses, fittings, hydraulic and pneumatic products. The company offers a variety of services to customers in northeast Italy, including hose cutting and assembly, cylinder repairs, custom hydraulic aggregates and pneumatic application design.
“The acquisition gives us an even stronger footprint in north-east Italy while extending our existing specialism in the flow and fluid power sector and complementing our historical strength in power transmission,” Rubix Italy CEO Tiziano Biasoli said in a Dec. 2 news release.
Igor Menegot, MD of Somi, will stay on to manage the transition. Afterward, Christian Defransceschi, Commercial Manager, and Luca Chini, Technical Manager, will continue to lead the company.
Somi reported sales of $14.29 million in 2023.
“In Rubix we see a shared commitment to employee engagement and customer satisfaction, and a common value given to the technical knowledge and specialist expertise of our teams,” Menegot added.
